production services
Offline collaborates with artists across all stages of their practice, with a particular focus on those at a pivotal step change in their careers. This might mean producing an artist’s first solo exhibition in an international setting, or supporting the transition from self-producing to working with a crew.
We build bespoke production teams that empower artists to realise ambitious new works, combining practical expertise with a sensitivity to experimental and non-traditional approaches to filmmaking.
Our productions achieve high quality outcomes while remaining true to principles of fair work, equity, and an ethos of individual care – for both the artists we support and the crews we work with. We have grown our expertise from a culture of DIY artists’ moving image and filmmaking production, this spirit of self-organising remains essential to our creative practice.
If you have funding for a moving image project and are looking for a producer, get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
commissions
Offline have commissioned exhibitions, screenings and artist-led film projects. We select artists through building long term collaborations, often taking years to get to know an artists’ practice. We value slow working and building meaningful connections.
We do not have core funding, therefore we rarely take on unsolicited projects which do not have funding attached. Though we have, on occasion, worked with artists to fundraise for projects we will then go on to produce. Though we have limited resources, we do our best to share what we do have with the communities that are important to us.
If you have an idea and would like to talk to our experienced team about it, we are always happy to consult on the early stages of a project.
submit your film
The question we get asked most often by artists filmmakers is about routes to presentation.
The visual arts / film sector can feel like an isolated place full of gatekeepers and prohibitive submission fees - if you are looking for a place to screen your work and do not have funding to hire our venue, we would love to hear from you. Every 6 months our small team will review these submissions and hold a special screening event.
We are always looking for new collaborators, this is intended to be a low stakes way to get to know you and your work outwith our regular open call opportunities.
Send a trailer or clip of up to 3 minutes to: submissions@offline-glasgow.org
We look forward to hearing from you!
